CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
SUPERVISOR: Accounting
Manager
SUPERVISES: None
PURPOSE: Under
general supervision of the Accounting Manager, audits and processes all in-kind
entries, analyzes and matches all invoices to purchasing and receiving
documents, prepares and enters journal entries, coordinates Family Literacy
billing and assist with audits as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Receives
in-kind documentation from all centers.
Audits center-developed forms, calculates allowable in-kind
contributions, and prepares journal entry.
2.
Upon
receipt of invoices directed to the agency, matches charges to approved
purchasing and receiving documentation.
Reviews all charges for accuracy.
Investigates and resolves pricing differences.
3.
Prepares
CACFP cooks wages spreadsheet. Creates
reports in FRX and provides back-up documentation for use by HNS in submission
of CACFP monthly claim.
4.
Prepares
Family Literacy funds and submits claim for reimbursement.
5.
Monitors
property tax exemptions to ensure that documentation and filings are current.
6.
Assists
with preparation of year-end audit work papers including end of year account
reconciliations.
7. Provides backup
for the A/P and Cash Management Bookkeepers.
8. Performs other
duties as assigned.
9. Meets all other
agency requirements for staff.

all required rules and regulations.
9. Performs
other duties as required by supervisory staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Associate Degree or 2 years college
education in accounting, with 3-4 years computer-based accounting or
bookkeeping experience, preferably in a not-for-profit setting. Will consider
high school diploma/GED and 10 years related experience. Official or unofficial transcript must
be attached to the employment application.
If degree requirement is waived,
willingness to complete Accounting 101 and 102 is required.
2. Must possess strong MAS90, Excel,
Word, and general computer skills.
3. Analytical problem solving capability.
4. Must possess strong skills in accounting
systems, and procedures.
5. Fast and accurate use of 10-key
calculator.
6. Fast and accurate data entry skills.
7. Experience with not-for-profit budgets
preferred.
8. Effective interpersonal communications
with agency employees, clients, and funding sources.
Federal, State,
County Legal/Licensing Requirements (once hired):
A.
Provide
proof of immunizations for childhood diseases (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Diphtheria, and
Tetanus, commonly known as MMR/DT) and must provide a clear Tuberculosis test
or chest X-ray.
B.
Able
to pass a company paid physical exam.
C.
Able to pass a FBI fingerprint and
criminal record check.
D.
Must be able to prove the right to work
in the
E.
Must provide a copy of the
state-required proof of auto insurance issued by insurance company every six
months.
F.
Submit
a current Fingerprint Clearance Card OR
be subject to undergo a federal and state criminal background check AND complete the necessary paperwork for a
Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Transportation
Requirement:
A.
Possess a valid Arizona driver's
license and excellent driving record.
Attach to application a three year driving record obtained from the
motor vehicle division.
