| Job Summary: | With teacher, implements the agency's Head Start Early Childhood and Family Development program for a maximum of twenty children in a half-day program.
1. Works with teacher daily to plan, implement, and evaluate classroom educational curriculum, including leading small group activities. 2. Works with teacher to observe, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized educational and behavioral health plans for each child. 3. Participates with teacher in completing home visits and parent conferences as needed. 4. With the teacher, completes health, behavioral, and developmental screening for each child. 5. Within program guidelines, may share individual child and program information with parents. 6. Works with teacher to refer parents to resources within Head Start and the community. 7. Supports Center Manager and participates in (and evaluates) monthly parent meetings and other parent involvement activities. 8. The Co-Teacher is qualified by both Child Parent Centers and the Office of Child Care Licensing standards to act as teacher in the classroom for day-to-day or long term absences. 9. The Co-Teacher is qualified by both Child Parent Centers and the Office of Child Care Licensing standards to supervise children and act as bus monitor. Other: 1. If hired as a bilingual person, provides bilingual support as needed. |
| Minimum Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: - Co-Teacher applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED and six months documented experience working in a paid or volunteer position with pre-school age children in a licensed facility AND must posses at least a child development associate credential (CDA). - Assistant Teacher applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED and six months documented experience working in a paid or volunteer position with pre-school age children in a licensed facility AND must be willing go acquire a child development associate credential (CDA) within two years of hire. A copy of the certificate(s) or a copy of an official / unofficial transcript must be attached to the employment application. Transportation Requirement: Possess a valid Arizona driver's license and excellent driving record. Attach to application a three year driving record obtained from the motor vehicle division. Federal, State, County Legal/Licensing Requirements (once hired): - Provide proof of immunizations for childhood diseases (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Diphtheria, and Tetanus, commonly known as MMR/DT) and must provide a clear Tuberculosis test or chest X-ray. - Able to pass a company paid physical exam. - Able to pass a FBI fingerprint and criminal record check. - Must be able to prove the right to work in the USA by providing appropriate documents to complete the Federal I-9 form. - Must provide a copy of the state-required proof of auto insurance issued by insurance company every six months. - Submit a current Fingerprint Clearance Card OR be subject to undergo a federal and state criminal background check ANDcomplete the necessary paperwork for a Fingerprint Clearance Card. Special Requirements for Classroom/Home Base and Driver Positions: - Must possess or have the ability to possess and keep current certification in First Aid Training. - Must possess or have the ability to possess and keep current certification in CPR training including Infants and Children. |
